Officially on the mend. The nice thing with pharmaceutical products is that the amount that is in a pack is some indication of how long it will take to get better. Or at least be finished with their product. Still coughing, but overall better.
Loegumkloster is a very nice town. It might even dangerously tempt one to call it an ideal town, and try to replicate it somewhere else. The housepainter(s) do a good business here and keep the place looking fine, the organist has full artistic freedom in the evening kirkesang concerts, and lots of brochures are in German. There are more secondhand shops that any other shop type here - currently three, with a fourth one to come in a couple of weeks. Two watch shops, which also seems to be a lot, and two pubs, which seems about right. Otherwise about one of everything else. And one hell of a closter church. Originally for a handful of monks, it could probably handle the attendance of everyone in town. Well maintained. You would think it was built yesterday.
I am currently in a fairly informal meditation and painting course. About 15 attendees, all women except for one, and from all corners of Denmark which is really nice. There is a bit of everything in the course, from walks in the forest to listening to music, to foot baths and having coffee and cake. The painting part for me has been perfect, and I hope to continue the same little exercises at home. Tomorrow evening will be a little party, a little 'vernisering' (art opening) with wine and cheese. All in all, it's mostly been fun.
Compared with the Continental flight from Houston - Vancouver, which was tech-heavy with a high percentage of passengers with various comm toys, this flight is pretty low tech. For example, people are humming right now while they paint because they feel like some music. This suits me just fine.
A Danish 'Hoejskole' is fairly special and dear to the hearts of Danes. A place for informal, mostly-fun learning, for shorter or longer periods (a weekend or half a year), where the place is a communal home. In this one there seems to be an artistic angle - there are no fewer than 4 grand pianos. I randomly went up to one in a fairly regular-looking classroom - and discover an older Steinway. Tickled it a bit with some Danish psalm melodies. Fun to open up that aspect of myself here as well.
Our course is now the only action happening here, but for the past two nights there were about 50 others in a trail-walking/nature 'course'. There is also a group of teens resident here, but they are in Copenhagen until Sunday. So the place is entirely ours and we bask in the luxury of occupying a public space privately.
So here are a few photos, including the paintings I did today. Hm. Somehow they landed a few paragraphs back, but anyways. The 'cinnamon buns' are not what they seem - just been informed that they are savoury, with what otherwise seems to be the cinnamon part being in fact pesto.
